According to a new survey, many moms want <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drkimplasticsurgery.com\/procedures\/\">plastic surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the survey showed that 62 percent of mothers said they would consider a \u201cmommy makeover,\u201d which includes procedures such as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drkimplasticsurgery.com\/procedures\/body\/tummy-tuck\/\">tummy tuck<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drkimplasticsurgery.com\/procedures\/breast\/breast-augmentation\/\">breast augmentation<\/a> and\/or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drkimplasticsurgery.com\/procedures\/breast\/breast-lift\/\">breast lift<\/a>, if cost were not an issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the last decade we\u2019ve seen women\u2019s attitudes about cosmetic surgery change. Today women are not afraid to admit that they love their children, but they wish their bodies looked the way they did before their first pregnancies. And they\u2019re not afraid to acknowledge that they may need a little help beyond a healthy diet and exercise,\u201d said Dr. Phillip Haeck, ASPS President.<\/p>\n<p>Another trend that surgeons are seeing is that patients seeking a mommy makeover are younger than a decade ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past we saw a lot of women in their 50s getting these types of procedures. But today we are seeing young mothers in their 30s coming in for procedures such as tummy tucks and breast lifts,\u201d said Dr. Haeck. He said they don\u2019t want to wait years to get their bodies back\u2014they want their pre-baby bodies back now.<\/p>\n<p>Plastic surgeon Allen Rosen, MD, agrees and said because women today talk more openly about cosmetic procedures, plastic surgery is more accepted than it was just ten years ago.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re considering a mommy makeover, ASPS has some general tips to consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wait at least six months to a year after having your last child before undergoing mommy makeover procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Be specific about your post-baby body goals so that your plastic surgeon can recommend the best procedures for you.<\/li>\n<li>If you are trying to lose weight, do so before undergoing the procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Kim is currently offering $1500 off a mommy makeover (any combination breast and tummy contouring procedures) through May 31, 2011.
