With the holidays just around the corner, you might be surprised to learn that it is a great time to schedule a plastic surgery procedure. At my practice in The Woodlands area, my patients who undergo surgery around the holidays enjoy a number of advantages. In this blog post, I\u2019ll cover a few of the benefits of having your surgery at this time of year.<\/p>\n

In the fall and winter, temperatures are starting to cool down. Sweater weather is finally upon us. Because of this, you will find it easier to conceal bandages, compression garments, or new implants under the season\u2019s bulkier clothes. Scarves and hats can help hide the signs of a facelift<\/a> or brow lift<\/a>, and chunky sweaters can disguise a recent breast augmentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, the dreary weather will give you a great excuse to stay bundled up on the sofa or in bed. Rest, relaxation, and sun protection are all important components of a healthy recovery. Sticking to these is much easier to do during the winter months.<\/p>\n

The holidays are usually the time of year when people take time off work. Also, most workplaces typically close for a handful of days during the holiday season. This can help you minimize the number of days you\u2019ll need to take off for your surgery and recovery. Taking a few extra personal days at this time of year is unlikely to raise suspicion if you\u2019re concerned about co-workers finding out about your procedure.<\/p>\n

Finally, keep in mind that healing takes time. If you plan a procedure during the winter months, it will ensure that you will be fully recovered by the time temperatures start to rise. Your scars will fade, swelling will go away, and you will be ready to show off your new look all summer long.<\/p>\n
