Dr. Sugene Kim performs brow lift surgery at her practice in The Woodlands to gently raise the tissues of the forehead and give the area above the eyes a more youthful, refreshed look. Also called a forehead lift, this surgery can correct or reduce conditions such as sagging brows, forehead lines and furrows.
Dr. Sugene Kim is a double board-certified plastic surgeon and one of the top facial rejuvenation surgeons in Conroe, Spring, and throughout the greater Houston area. SGK Plastic Surgery specializes in both face and body enhancement procedures and has helped men and women from Texas and throughout the country achieve the look they want with cosmetic surgical procedures and medical spa procedures.
Who Should Consider a Brow Lift?
The best brow lift candidates are people who are in overall good health and are concerned with signs of aging in the upper face. While most people who have brow lift surgery are age 40 or over, men and women of a younger age may also benefit from the procedure. Individuals with inherited conditions, such as a naturally low brow or furrowed lines above the nose, can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with a brow lift.
A brow lift is often performed in combination with eyelid surgery to remedy crow’s feet or excess skin around the eyes. A brow lift can also be an excellent complement to your facelift, which addresses signs of aging in the lower and midface.

Brow Lift Techniques
During a brow lift, the muscles and tissues that cause furrowing or drooping in the area are removed or sculpted to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines.
Dr. Kim may use the conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind the hairline, or she may use an endoscope, or a tiny camera, that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions.
Traditional Brow Lift
In a traditional brow lift, the incision starts at about ear level and runs across the top of the forehead down to the other ear. The incision is usually made well behind the hairline so that the scar should not be visible after healing. If your hairline is high or receding, the incision may be placed just at the hairline. For bald people, Dr. Kim may use a mid-scalp incision that follows the natural pattern of the skull bones.
Working through the incision, the skin of the forehead is carefully lifted so that the underlying tissue can be removed and the muscles of the forehead can be altered or released. The eyebrows may also be elevated and excess skin at the incision point will be trimmed away to help create a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
In an endoscopic forehead lift, Dr. Kim makes 3 to 5 short scalp incisions instead of 1 long one, each incision less than an inch in length. She then inserts an endoscope, a pencil-like camera device connected to a television monitor, through one of the incisions, allowing her to have a clear view of the muscles and tissues beneath the skin. Using another instrument inserted through a different incision, the forehead skin is lifted and the muscles and underlying tissues are removed or altered to produce a smoother appearance. The eyebrows may also be lifted and secured into their higher position by sutures beneath the skin’s surface or by temporary fixation screws placed behind the hairline.
Dr. Kim will help you decide which surgical approach may be best to achieve your cosmetic goals. During a consultation, she can explain why one of these techniques might be appropriate for you.
How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost?
Every browlift surgery is unique and will be tailored according to the individual patient’s needs and aesthetic goals. Surgical fees can vary based on the custom surgical plan and current office promotions ranging from $7000 to $9000. Surgical fees include the total cost of the surgery (anesthesia, facility, surgeon’s fee, implants, and post-op visits).
