SkinMedica Vitalize Peel®

Vitalize Peel smooths the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and roughness. Patients typically experience noticeable results after just one peel, with compelling results after three to six peels.

Who is the ideal candidate for a Vitalize Peel?

Vitalize Peel is appropriate for patients with mild-to-moderate skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture. These treatments also address skin unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or other pigmentary changes.

How many treatments are required?

Multiple treatments may be required to achieve desired results. The number of treatments is based on initial level of skin damage, and can vary from three to six. The effect of the peel is cumulative and results are favorable when the peels are used in conjunction with SkinMedica® daily product regimen.

How often can I have Vitalize Peel treatments?

Vitalize Peel treatments can be repeated every three to four weeks.

VI Peel®

The VI Peel is a chemical peel that provides gentle, yet powerful skin exfoliation and stimulation of collagen production, delivering optimal results with a series of treatments spaced about two weeks apart. It is safe and effective to help people of almost any age address a number of skin conditions, including:

  • Acne
  • Sun damage
  • Actinic keratosis (precancerous skin cells)
  • Melasma and other skin discolorations

The VI Peel is safe for use on the face, neck, chest and hands to reduce the signs of aging. This specialized peel may also help soften fine lines and wrinkles. Many people combine chemical peels with a medical grade skin care regimen. Chemical peels may also enhance the results of a previous facelift.

After your initial VI Peel treatment series is complete, results can be simply maintained by undergoing VI Peel treatments every three months or so, depending on your needs.

VI Peel Ingredients

The VI Peel contains a proprietary blend of safe, effective ingredients and combines a variety of vitamins and peeling agents, including trichloroacetic acid (TCA), to deliver optimal skin resurfacing results with very little discomfort and downtime. No pain relief or sedatives are needed to comfortably undergo a VI Peel, and no skin conditioning needs to be done prior to treatment.

VI Peel Side Effects

The potential side effects of the VI chemical peel are minimal. Most people experience only mild redness and skin sensitivity after their treatment.

What to Expect After Your VI Peel

About three days after your VI Peel, the treated area should begin lightly peeling, shedding old, dead cells to reveal rejuvenated skin with improved tone and texture. Peeling typically lasts only for a few days, unless a more aggressive peel is performed, in which case a second round of peeling may begin around a week after your VI Peel.

For Best Results

Peeling is normal after any chemical peel and isn’t really considered a side effect. However, if you pick or pull at peeling skin as it sloughs off, you may cause hyperpigmentation, a potentially long-lasting effect.

Additionally, exposing your skin to sun after a VI Peel can cause skin to darken, so sun protection is extremely important immediately after your VI Peel and throughout the healing process. Practicing diligent sun protection can help maintain your results from your chemical peel as long as possible.
