The DIEP Flap technique for breast reconstruction uses excess skin and fat from a patient’s lower abdominal region to create a new breast mound. One of the benefits of this advanced procedure is that it spares the abdominal muscles. Many patients also enjoy a slimming effect similar to a tummy tuck after the tissue is transferred to the breast. Individual results may vary.
