Implant Breast Reconstruction Photo Gallery

Breast reconstruction using implants allows a woman to restore breast shape and size after mastectomy using saline or silicone breast implants. Frequently a two-step procedure, temporary tissue expanders are placed at the time of mastectomy. After several weeks or months, more permanent, natural feeling implants replace the tissue expanders. In some cases, a sterile donor tissue matrix (Alloderm) can be used as a permanent tissue expander, allowing the reconstruction to take place during a single operation. Individual results may vary.
